This charming, seasonal cottage has been in the same family for nearly a hundred years. It was the summer retreat for artist Hazel Brill Jackson, rock climber, poet, defender of wild animals and internationally acclaimed sculptress. She created bronze statues of wild animals, inspired by local wildlife , content in the peaceful atmosphere of Cutler, her studio/retreat is an ideal summer place for nature/outdoor enthusiasts and an excellent potential as a B&B with a unique history. From the windows you will hear thrushes sing in the pre-dawn and dusk. Glorious sunrises bloom over the hills above town and eastern Head. One of the many rugged and rocky Bold Coast trails, Western Head, begins a quarter mile from the doorstep. Many other trails and public beaches are minutes away by vehicle. Deer and bird habitat abounds, sweetgrass and balsam poplar leaves scent the air. The shoreline is good for digging your own clams as well as beach-coming. And for boat lovers, the far end of the shore is accessible for deep water anchorage. Little River (Cutler Harbor) is famous for its depth and length and as such provides safe shelter for fishermen's boats, yachts, and recreational kayakers and paddle boarders.
