Otter lake has a public access lot at # 510 and the public lot on Long lake is # 112, that one has a nice spot to put in a boat. Both lakes have good fishing, and the area is popular for hunting as well with a couple of guide services working out of the subdivision. This is a great area for anyone who enjoys ATV's, Snowmobiles, or any outside activity any time of the year. Wesley is close to Machias and the coast, easy travel to public beaches at Roque Bluffs state park with its long sand beach and the freshwater pond across the road from the ocean. There are some beautiful walking trails there as well to enjoy. Machiasport has Fort O'Brian State park as well as Jasper Beach with its rolling tides and the sound of the water rushing over the rocks. Machias is the county seat and holds a lot of history for those who are interested in that. The first battle of the American Revolution was there and the history available to study can keep anyone pretty busy! A visit to Burnham Tavern is a great place to start on Colonial Way in Machias.
